Kansas Zen Center Happenings

You are cordially invited to join us for any of these events. Newcomers are welcome.

Saturday, March 27, 9am to 12 or 1 PM -- Zen Center Spring Cleaning. We will do some light cleaning and maintenance work around the house and dharma room. There's dripping faucet in the basement bathroom that needs attention, some yard clean up, that kind of thing.

Friday, April 2nd, 7 PM - Carnatic Violin Concert -- Carnatic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnatic_music) violinist and South Indian Classical musician Purnaprjna will be accompanied by an Indian hand drummer. If you have never heard Indian microtonal music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microtones) you owe it to yourself to experience this. Purnapraja favors favors the acoustics and intimate setting of our Dharma room for his performances. He is also a mathematics professor at KU (http://www.math.ku.edu/~purna/). Requested donation to Benefit the Kansas Zen Center, $10.00.

Sunday, April 11th, 10:30 AM - Buddha's Birthday & Precepts Ceremony. We will bath the baby Buddha (ask someone about the history of this celebration) and celebrate our new 5 and 10 preceptees.

We look forward to seeing you!
